Assessments are a necessary component to writing instruction for screening, progress monitoring, and outcome Penciltesting. They are essential in determining what students know and need to learn. The provided assessment tools are designed to assist 3rd through 6th grade teachers in diagnosing student instructional needs and the effectiveness of instruction that is being delivered. Some assessments can be given to students more than once. The goal is to continue remediating struggling students until they are able to master the skills. The provided assessments will assist the teacher in guiding instruction to meet the needs of individual students in order to maximize learning.
